Chapter ?

Hello! I had quite a long break, but now is time to write something.

I upgraded my Fl studio 9 to 10 yesterday and it look's pretty good. The biggest change is the mixer, what looks more complicated now and it takes more space. I don't know yet is it good or bad.

Also playlist has changed. There is no more that block building thing, I don't know do you know what I mean, but look the screenshot.

There is no new samples or instruments or I just didn't find them. But for me this is pretty much same as 9. Of course there must be a lot of new what we can't see.

Chapter 11

Hello!

I've been wondering that I should try other music making softwares. There is that one called Reason.

It must be very good, but there is couple of things I don't like about it. It hasn't VST support, what sounds pretty weird. Maybe it has so good range of instuments in it.

I have once before tried it like three years ago or something. It was over too hard for me to understand. There was a huge work to get a one sound off from it. Piano roll looked very bad and complicated compared to FL studio's piano roll.

A huge minus is the price. It costs like 400 euros. I bet there is a trial version, maybe I check it out someday and write about it here.

------

Also there is Cubase, what is maybe the most high-quality program. But seems like it doesn't have any instument or drum machine build in. And it costs like hell, 600 euros.

-----

But how I am doing. I will buy new headphones someday and get ridd of these shitty ones. Let me know if you know something very good and not so expensive.

Chapter 9

Still nothing new happened, what is a big shame. But don't worry, I keep you warm with my old songs. Here is one, that I made about two years ago. It's very short and it's supposed to be something like movie music.

Here we go:

Sorry that short stop in the middle of this song. I copied that two times that it's not so short.

Chapter 8

New month with new ideas. I started couple of new projects, but I am afraid none of them will see the day light. There is always that feeling, when you know that song you started to make will be ready someday and published. Didn't have that feeling with these. God, I need inspiration or a good motivator, where do I get one?

I don't have much to say right now, so I show you a screenshot about my previous song ( this has it ).

As you can see, it looks very clean and simple. That's the way I like to keep it, it's much easier to handle and work with it. If you are making a song and everything is like a big mess it's very frustrating, so keep it as simple as you can.

Chapter 7

They way I did this was, I made the piano first. When piano was ready it was pretty ease to build rest of the song.

Trivia
- This song has 6 synths and 6 samples
- Song was made in couple of days, about 3-4 hours.
- I made it with FL studio 9
- I used 10€ logitech headphones, I have no idea about the quality of the mix

Chapter 4

This is my almost complete rap beat. It's funny I don't listen rap or make rap, but someway I am starting to like doing these beats.

This one I made about couple of weeks ago.

It's pretty simple, only one melodie replaying again and again, but there is a space for a rap too. :)

FL Studio 9

FL Studio (formerly known as FruityLoops) is a digital audio workstation developed by Belgian company Image-Line Software. FL Studio was originally the creation of Didier Dambrin who went on to take the role of the lead programmer at Image-Line, responsible for its core development.

FL Studio features a graphical user interface based on a pattern-based music sequencer. The environment includes MIDI support and incorporates features for editing, mixing, recording, and mastering audio. Completed songs or clips may be exported to Microsoft WAV, MP3, and the OGG Vorbis format using various interpolation algorithms.

If you're interested about making music, you should try this one.

Chapter 3

Today I tried to do a rap beat. It is maybe the easiest music genre. Okay, all music can be hard, but that must be one of the easiest to complete. I would upload here a link, where is the beginning of that song, but i don't know any places where to upload audio. But I try to find something. It would be better if a player would be here, so you don't have to go to other website.

I also had thoughts that I could write something else here too than music things. I don't have anything in my mind right now, but in the future I will.

edit. I uploaded a short sample to youtube. Here it is:

Chapter 2

Hi!

Now I am going to tell you what stuff I use when I am making music.

The most important thing is my laptop of course. I use an integrated soundcard, I am not a pro so I don't care much of those things. I used to use Koss headphones but those went broken so I am using now some shitty logitech headphones.

The program I am using is FL Studio 9. I have there some VSTi's installed. I also have couple of real instruments, an acoustic guitar and a keyboard ( Yamaha psr-403 ). I don't usually use them when working out something, but they give me an ispiration.

I haven't done music a long time. I could say I have done music many years, but the truth is I've been very unactive. Maybe a half hour per day, maybe less. Sometimes more than month breaks. Now I am trying to get with this blog my motivation back to this hobby.

Let's meet again in next chapter.
